Kaliyana Finney is a fifth year Computational Media major at Georgia Institute of Technology. She grew up in Atlanta, GA, but was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She worked with Dr. David LaBorde for her senior design project creating the Joan Alice LaBorde Foundation website. She was the content manager and in charge of all communication for the team. At the end of Spring 2011, she will be graduating with highest honors.

Megan Koleff is a graduating senior at Georgia Tech pursuing a bachelor of science in computer science. She plans to start working in Fall 2011 along with keeping her part time job coaching gymnastics. Megan is interested in front end software development with a focus on user interface and experience design.

Mikhail attended Georgia Tech through Spring 2010 with a major in Computational Media. He worked on the Boards Review Website as part of the senior capstone course. Mikhail now works as an assistant audio engineer with SoundAround Audio as well as a sales photographer at the Georgia Aquarium.

Current Program Participant

Kunal has received his B.Tech in Biotechnology from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, India. He also received his MS in Bioinformatics from Georgia Institute of Technology where he is currently pursuing his PhD in Computer Science. His research interests include Database Modeling and Design, knowledge representation using Semantic Web Technologies like Ontologies. He is also interested in exploring the field of Data Integration using Ontologies. He has worked as an Application developer at Emory University in the Dept of Human Genetics where he built a Patient Record Tracking System which helped the doctors to store the general information of the patients and information about the results of the tests carried out and generate reports. He has also worked on building a Browser for Neisseria Meningitidis genome as a part of the Gene Prediction Group at Georgia Tech.

Josiah is a Computer Science student at Georgia Tech. His academic focus is in the area of user interface design and human computer interaction. He is currently working on Brain Interface testing using SSVEP technology for the Georgia Tech Brain lab. He is also working with a team of 4 students to develop a mobile physician application for the Emory Department of Neurosurgery. Josiah was raised in Manila, Philippines and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.

Current Program Participant

Shibani Medhekar is currently a first year Masters student at the Georgia Institute of Technology majoring in Computer Science. She is currently working on "Dynamic Form Generation", a research project under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. David Laborde and Dr. Sham Navathe. Beginning in her undergraduate years and continuing until now, she has been working on and developing a number of applications and products on android and the web. An important application is the development of an "Online Recommendation System" for patients that recommends suitable doctors depending on the patients’ condition and also provides a portal for them to communicate. Another application worth mentioning is an intelligent system that recommends actors and locations to directors based on the script description they provide. She has also developed two android applications keeping in mind their market worthiness. Shibani will graduate in December 2011 or May 2012.

JoAnne Ofoli is a fifth year Computational Media student at Georgia Institute of Technology. JoAnne worked with Dr. LaBorde for her senior design project - creating the Joan Alice LaBorde Foundation website. She was the documentation recorder as well as being in charge of creating the database for the back-end of the website. She currently works with The Atlanta Go To Girl designing an online bridal guide, and hopes to continue working in graphic design after graduation in Summer 2011.

Candis Pham is a fourth year senior at Georgia Tech. She is majoring in Computational Media with a high interest in Human-Computer Interaction. Upon graduating in May 2011, Candis will be working as a technologies consultant for Capgemini, working to bring efficient computer science to more people worldwide. Candis worked with Dr. David LaBorde for her senior design project creating the Joan Alice LaBorde Foundation website. She was the project manager and chief web developer in charge of creating and implementing all of the code for the front end of the website.

Puneet is a fourth year Computer Science major at Georgia Institute of Technology. He loves to make games and is interested in anything related to graphics and User interface. Soon he will be joining EA in California. In college he has been involved a lot in teaching. In the past he has worked as a TA for CS department, physics department and as a Tutor/mentor for housing department. hse is also interested in finance and plans to pursue an MBA in the future. In his free time he likes to hang out with his friends, watch movies, play games on Xbox, and occasionally go to the gym to workout.

Charlie started at Georgia Tech in Fall 2006 as a mechanical engineering major and switched to computer science in Spring 2008. He worked with David in Spring 2011, during his final semester at Georgia Tech. Charlie is starting his full time job with Power Plan Consultants in Atlanta in June.

Kyle Thomas will begin employment in June 2011 with Blackbaud in Charleston, South Carolina after graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a major in Computational Media and a Music Certificate. During his years at Georgia Tech, Kyle was an active leader in a number of campus organizations including: Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech, LeaderShape Institute, Heart of Passion, Relay for Life, American Red Cross, and Connect with Tech. These leadership experiences connected Kyle with the non-profit organization community and led to his great interest in working to better that community beyond his college years. He worked with Dr. David LaBorde for his senior design project creating the Joan Alice LaBorde Foundation website. He was the design and documentation manager for the team.
